“I ain't came to stand here for none of this bullshit, man I came here to play”

Matthew's back and downright bossy. Bruce bossy. Brassy, too. It's hard to be humble when you're from Alabama. Listen.

Michael Velliquette's "Power Tower" is on display now at the Museum Of Art & Design as part of their incredible SLASH: Paper Under The Knife exhibit. Well worth the $10 admission, the two-floor display includes Kara Walker's familiar politics and Olafur Eliasson's legitimately mindblowing take on paper sculpture, along with disturbing gothic dioramas, regal cardboard sculptures and all sorts of cuttings that are just blindingly meticulous. A very pleasant surprise right at the bottom of Central Park, which is always worth a look itself.

"Storm de Hirsch was a very important player in the New York Avant-Garde film scene of the 1960s, though her biography and work are generally left out of the history."

"There's been a great increase of snow amount." ~Dylan E.

After an outpouring of meteorological hysteria, which inspired the purchase of very many canned goods and bottled liquids by Eastern idiots, Brooklyn is now 31 degrees and melting. Jesus Christ. Are we really talking about the weather? Has it honestly come to this? Blah blah blah I took some photos again who cares talk to you later.

HEY PRESS PLAY!

Gone is the precious elf thesaurus we were all so wild for back in the day, and in its place, a confidently dizzy bar bummer that sounds like Melanie in plaid deciding she's not gonna take it anymore under blue neon. I see you, Joanna Newsom. I don't mean drunk or hippie dizzy, I mean how am I gonna feed my baby dizzy. This "Good Intentions Paving Company" game-changer is on a triple record called Have One On Me, recorded in Japan and out sometime this year, who knows when. I can't wait to hear the rest of it. Until then, here's the whole pretty world falling apart. Man, this song is so good.

[be sure to switch to 480p]

i am up at five today and crazy restless. in the kitchen window i have lined up the plants where they will see the most morning and sprayed a mist of water on them for a drink. outside, early people are stepping over ice in coats and you can see their shoulders being tight and their breath coming out and everything. upstairs it is too warm for sleeping but it is sweet in the blankets and the green things have all shot coils out at haywire angles that will eventually unwrap themselves into new leaves. i am very glad about this because some of them i thought were dead.

silent light is a movie about a mennonite husband in cuauhtémoc, chihuahua who falls in love with a lady that is not his wife. martin scorsese liked it and so did all the famous critics. i didn't see it except for the first five minutes that you are watching right now.
