watch | the mast brothers
Here's a long winsome look at the lisping redbeard boys who've romanced hell outta Third Street with old wood, washed up nautica and salty sweets in Royal Tenenbaums wrapping paper (via The Scout).

Great video, thanks for posting this!
those are aggressively bad beards. I don't see what clothes, beards and old wood have to do with chocolate. America's (and especially New York's) recent grasp for authenticity seems unnecessary and forced. I'm supposed to pay 10 bucks for your chocolate bar because you wear boots to work?f
hmm... isn't your objection to these guys technically an unnecessary grasp for authenticity?
oh totally. We're all in this together, and I'm not really mad at these two gentleman, or their beards, or their very nice jeans. I just sometimes have that kneejerk reaction to this new craft movement where it seems like I'm paying for the experience in addition to the product. More than anything, I think they probably have delicious chocolate and I'm glad they've got a business together.
and i'm just arguing for the sake of argument. there's more barn wood in a block of williamsburg than in half of kansas. it's ridiculous. but if i had to pick a kind of ridiculousness to be stuck with... i guess it's not the worst one to land on, at least for a little while.
