i ran across kevin earl taylor by way of a naturalismo announcement of his involvement as an album cover artist on will oldham's next project, an ep of songs sung with his brothers. a project i've been looking forward to for a long time now. anyhow, that'll come. for now it's kevin taylor who's got my attention with drawings on the fanciful edge of disturbing that combine coffee stains with animal heads on underdeveloped female bodies and their clothes off.
it's a disconcerting combination for sure. threatening, even. creates an uneasiness worthy of old shakespeare's green and wooded otherworlds. or at least reminiscent. of course mr octopus over there is no indication of the weirder works within. you'll have to discover those on your own, brandon.
